As I walked alone, an inner voice warned me to stay alert. Moments later, a man approached me and made an inappropriate proposition. I immediately sensed danger.

Although I had studied Hebrew years earlier, I remembered only a handful of words. Nevertheless, I began speaking a strange mixture of vocabulary, hoping to confuse him while gradually making my way toward my college dormitory.

He followed, questioned me, and continued trying to engage me. I kept walking and talking until I reached the campus entrance. When he finally asked whether I had been pretending to understand him, I enthusiastically answered, “YES!” and sprinted to safety.

Looking back, I recognize this encounter as more than a frightening experience. It was an early reminder of how intuitive guidance can help you recognize danger and make decisions under pressure.

The messages came clearly: Keep walking. Be aware. Turn around. Speak Hebrew.

I listened, acted, and reached safety.

Minutes after her mother left, Halley’s younger brother suddenly became seriously ill with a fever of 105°F. Her mother rushed home, and they took him to the hospital.

Thankfully, he recovered. But the experience stayed with Halley for decades.

She remembered the unmistakable feeling that something was wrong before her brother showed any visible symptoms. As she grew older, she began exploring concepts such as claircognizance—the experience of knowing something without consciously understanding how you know it—and clairsentience, the intuitive perception of feelings or physical sensations.
